Make tutorial captions easier to follow
A viewer may be reading while their hands are busy with the next step.
Keep instructions together
Break lines at natural phrase boundaries. Avoid splitting a number from its unit or separating an action from the object it applies to.
Protect the actual instruction
Check quantities, temperatures, timings, and tool names against your recording. Automated transcription can confuse similar-sounding words.
Preview on a phone
Check captions against the final video at a small screen size. Long cues may need retiming as well as line breaks.
